A Bill the Baker Recipe for Cooking Guinea pigs


 

Bill's Guinea pig Ingredients:

  • A young guinea pig
  • A little flour
  • Pepper and salt
  • 450g (½ lb) bread-crumbs
  • Sage
  • 4 large onions
  • Grated lemon peel, just a little
  • 1 egg
  • 30 ml (1 tablespoon) milk.

Method:

KILL and wash the guinea pig! Then tear the fur and flesh from the pig leaving a delicious and succulent carcass. If you feel squeamish about doing this then get a Peruvian friend to do this for you. Believe me they will be happy to do it.

Cut into joints. Put in on a dish and flour well. Then put into a baking dish or a cake tin.

Have ready in a basin the bread-crumbs finely grated, the sage finely cut, the onions also finely cut with the grated lemon peel, pepper and salt to taste, 1 egg and a tablespoonful milk, beat all these well together. Place over the guinea pig. Bake for 2 hours in a warm oven until it is golden brown.

This is a delicious way of cooking guinea pigs. Old, fat, lazy guinea pigs will need cooking for longer.
